Four things get an enquiry moving: the date, the number of people, the format, and whether anyone needs a bed afterwards. With those four the events desk can hold a room and quote a figure the same day. Everything else — the menu, the layout, the running order — can wait.

One a weekend, and the whole ground floor
We take one wedding per weekend. That is a capacity decision rather than a marketing line: a wedding uses The Peninsula Room, the foyer, the terrace and most of the kitchen’s attention, and two in a weekend means neither gets it.
Ceremony on the terrace with the sea behind you, or in The Peninsula Room with the wall folded back. 180 for a standing reception, 120 seated. A wet-weather plan is written into every contract at the time of booking, because this is a south-facing coast and the plan gets used about one weekend in four.
Send the date, the numbers, the format and whether rooms are needed. The desk replies with availability and an indicative figure the same working day, and will hold a room for ten days without a deposit and without pressure.
Half an hour, any weekday, and worth doing before the contract rather than after. We will put the room in the layout you asked about rather than showing it empty, if you give a day’s notice.
Twenty-five per cent to confirm, the balance seven days before. Final numbers are due five working days ahead; that is the figure we charge, and numbers can go up after it but not down. Cancellation terms are on the terms page in full rather than in a footnote.
A written running order goes out a fortnight ahead and is confirmed at the site meeting. On the day the coordinator is on the floor from setup to clear-down, and the duty manager holds a copy. Deliveries take the Forbury Road entrance from 7am; access for setup is from 6am if agreed beforehand.
The Albion Room is a licensed gaming room, not a function space, and it cannot be booked out or made part of an event package. Delegates and wedding guests aged 20 and over can walk in as any member of the public would, with photo identification, during opening hours. It is not hired, it is not staffed for a private party, and no gaming credit is issued as part of an event contract.
Resort Scenery is a hotel and entertainment resort at St Clair in Dunedin, New Zealand. This website carries information about our rooms, restaurant, bar, bathhouse, event spaces, gaming room and guest services. The Albion Room holds gaming machines, table games and live table gaming on the premises only, for guests and visitors aged 20 and over, and closes at 2.30am.
There is no play on this website. Resort Scenery runs no internet gaming, no betting service and no remote gaming of any kind. Nothing here accepts a stake, a deposit or a wager, and no account can be opened. Gaming happens in one room of this building, in person, under the Gambling Act 2003 and the conditions of our licence.
